Don’t often dip my toes into Romance, but when I do they’re typically a popular title offering a fun and straightforward read. Dont get me wrong, I love these kinds of books and they can move me, but I don’t know where to begin finding novels that feel a bit more mature.

I’m talking ones that deal with complex adult relationships, visible emotional growth for characters, and don’t necessarily offer a perfect ending (though that’s always a bonus). Basically, novels that reflect the messiness, greyness, and stakes of real life.

Which romance books have really sat with you over time? (I recognize “Romance” itself is immense, so maybe this kind of novel has its own category within the genre.)
