I may not be desi or depressed but this book impacted me. Tweety's story rings true for so many young people, especially desi teenagers and this book will help combat the stigma against it. I would suggest reading the triggers beforehand if you struggle with your mental health, but I believe everyone should read this, whether they're desi, depressed, or neither. This is such an emotional, bittersweet book and I absolutely loved it.

DNF at halfway. I won't say every part of this book is bad, some are funny and witty but without that it fell short. I found Patch to be way too overdramatic and extremely quick to judge his friends in the middle, and the long lasting feuds seemed overdone and one sided. I am all for a character putting themselves before others and setting boundaries etc but the reason I couldn't finish it was because I felt he was too self centred and didn't think about others POV or emotions. Normally this type of book would tick some boxes for me, but it came as a reccomendation, so it just might not be my type of book. Who knows, he may have had a redemption era after page 200!

This is such an incredible book from Elle once again. I didn't know middle grades could be so relatable and heartbreaking, but the extremely honest and realistic portrayal of being young and autistic is so incredible. It is full of meltdowns, self acceptance, friendship, standing up for what's right, setting boundaries and exactly what I needed to read when I was younger. I loved the portrayal of a non speaking character and how it wasn't seen as mournful, an issue but wasn't glazed over and it was shown how observant, thoughtful and loving non speaking people are even if they can't verbally communicate it. I have loved each and every one of Elle's books but this one has reached new heights, i truly commend her. This is a must read for any young autistic person, but also may help allistics understand better regardless of their age. Aeriel has a special place in my heart right next to keedie, addie, Bonnie, angel, cora and all of the autistic girls Elle has masterfully represented through her writing.

I liked the general concept, but it fell short for me. The MC was incredibly naive throughout the whole thing and wouldn't listen to reason, which I found irritating. The characters were written okay, I liked the kind of enemies to lovers trope but it felt a bit dull at some times. overall, I would say don't buy this to keep and re-read, if you have a library then utilise it :)
