This was such a good book! Everything being unveiled was so entertaining, and there were definitely a lot of gasps. I think every murder mystery lover should read the Truly Devious series at least once in their life. Also, it says on the book that it’s a standalone, but I think Truly Devious, The Vanishing Stair, and The Hand on the Wall should definitely be read beforehand. Otherwise, it would just feel incomplete.

  • What’s the pettiest reason you ever DNFed a book?

Dw, no one will judge cuz I’ve DNFed books or stayed away from books for the dumbest reasons sometimes. So I’ll go first. I think the pettiest reason I’ve ever DNFed a book was cuz there weren’t enough paragraph breaks. Most pages would just be one big paragraph, and I just couldn’t handle it, I would just randomly get lost between sentences.

  • Reviews before reading?

Do you go in blind when picking up a book or read the reviews?

I try to go in blind but usually end up reading reviews and sometimes that pushes me away from the book because of bad reviews. I need to get better about not reading reviews so I can go into a book without biases. I also tend to read reviews during the book which also gets me in trouble if there are undisclosed spoilers

What do you guys do? Read reviews to get an idea if you'll like it? Completely avoid the reviews before reading? Does reading the reviews sway you one way or another?

Is it just me who thinks the flashbacks are way better in this book? I actually like reading them. I used to get bored reading the Ellingham flashbacks.

With every book, Nate just gets funnier and funnier.
