  • Hey, Stop It

What is something you wish authors would stop doing when writing FMC's or MMC's?

For me, giving all the MMC's shadow powers. Bler I want to see something else!

    Thoughts from 39% (Chapter 6)

(re-reading) i remembered what i found about nonviolent communication, not very practical, even though i really wish that this way of communication was used in real life. The ideas are brilliant but i find them ... lengthy. Meaning - i can't picture myself using the system of nonviolent communication with others, like family, friends etc., because from my own life experience, some people are not used to being patient enough to listen to me for a moment, and they often lose attention really quickly... and now ideas of nonviolent communication are requiring longer talking when we are trying to connect to the person with whom we have a discussion or we just want to clarify something or deal with a problem.

This part i find really impractical ... at least for me and the social environment in which i grew up. Maybe it's only my way of talking that people get quickly bored and can't keep up because i talk too much sometimes... at least when i am journaling i can use the ideas from this book.

  • Looking for some good classics...

To be brutally honest, I am not a classics girl. In fact, I don't even like reading books that were published before I was born (90's), but I do want to, sort of, "culture" or "educate" myself by attempting to read some.

I'm really interested in dark stories, fantasy stories, or gothic stories. I know there's the obvious ones like Dracula and Frankenstein (which I WILL be adding to my list), but what other classics do you think might be up my alley?? Any recs would be helpful 🙏🙏

  • Books that Embody a Feeling

Have you read a book that perfectly embodies a feeling? This happened to me recently when I read Mad Sisters of Esi. The book perfectly captured that lonesome feeling of longing and wanting to belong. I would love to hear what books you feel perfectly embody a feeling or emotion!!

How many books do you read at a time, and why?

I've noticed that a lot of people on this app seem to have three books at a time listed as "currently reading," which is interesting to me. Especially because these books often (but not always) look to be in similar genres. For me personally, I tend to only have one or two books being read, and usually, one is an audiobook while the other one is print (well, digital print). I might occasionally have a third book in progress if it's a completely different genre, but I can't imagine keeping five at the same time. I also feel like I'm more willing to "pause" or "DNF" books if I"m not engaged, rather than keeping them open for long periods of time. But I'm curious how others feel. How many books do you read at a time, and why does that work for you?

Posting even when no one cares

I read a lot of books not popular on Pagebound and I struggle with posting to forums when I know probably no one will see it, especially if it's even within a 100 meters radius of a spoiler. I wanted to ask how everyone deals with this. Or with bothering to write reviews when you know no one will read them. 🙏🏻 Feels like wasted effort to me.

Thanks ya all for the engagement. 🥹 I didn't expect such a response.
