As I read this book and am reflecting on it, I'm trying to keep in mind that this is a young adult book and I listened to it as an audiobook which may or may not have affected how I interacted with this! I also don't tend to write reviews so bear with me~
One of the most notable aspects of this book is the world building in which I felt like the author spent a lot of time, too much to my liking, on painting a magical, whimsical and fantastical world. At a certain point, I just felt disengaged because it felt too dragged out for me.
The story and characters themselves were all the typical tropes and pretty much predictable in terms of what they were thinking, the actions they would take, and how the story would unfold.
Overall, this book is lighthearted and straightforward in its story, plot, and characters. Great for those who just want a light read! Andddd I definitely recommend the audiobook.
I'd give this a 3.75 if I could
