Wow... Nach Band 1 & 2 dieser Reihe hatte ich ehrlich gesagt ein wenig die Sorge, dass das Finale der Trilogie meine Begeisterung nicht aufrecht erhalten kann. Ich habe leider oft genug erlebt, dass die Qualität unter der Quantität leidet, sei es bei Büchern, Serien oder Filmen. Ich kann nun jedoch sagen, dass meine Bedenken in diesem Fall vollkommen unbegründet waren. Die wunderschöne Geschichte und die unglaublich liebenswürdigen Charaktere haben dieses Buch zu einem absolut gelungenem Abschluss einer wirklich hinreißenden Reihe gemacht! "Sound of Dreams" ist genau wie "Levels of Love" und "Match of Fate" eine absolute Empfehlung für alle, die in (cozy) Videospielen und Büchern ein Zuhause für sich gefunden haben. ⭐️

I read this because of my book club and I really tried to enjoy it, but I just couldn't. Some parts were kind of funny and cute, but there was way too much se*ual content for my liking. Because of that and the rather childish behavior of the characters, the whole story felt unserious and kind of uncomfortable to me. It seems like there are quite some people who did enjoy reading "Playing Games" and I am happy for them, but I only enjoyed finally finishing it.

Since I can only imagine how much time and energy it takes to create and publish a story that fills up hundreds of pages, I will start my review with some positivity. We read "Quicksilver" with our book club and two of the other members really enjoyed it. Sadly, I can't say the same thing about myself.

The whole story just felt as if the author had picked her favorite plots and tropes from other romantasy books and combined them in hers. It felt chaotic. It felt as if nothing was properly thought through. I also didn't like the characters, especially the two main ones. There was no real emotional depth, and most of the time, I just found them annoying. Their relationship with each other was probably the thing I disliked the most about the whole book. Their hate turned into lust, their lust turned into love, but they totally lost me on the way. I couldn't understand that development at all. They got intimate with each other's body, but barely with each other's soul. They hardly ever shared more than three meaningful sentences without a smut scene following right after. All in all, their connection didn't feel real, it felt shallow.

It's good that there are people who enjoyed "Quicksilver" enough to read the second book, but I won't be doing that.

Liebenswerte Charaktere, eine süße Liebesgeschichte und natürlich D&D: Trotz ein paar Kritikpunkten ein Buch, das ich gerne gelesen habe. Leider fehlen der Handlung und den Charakteren in meinen Augen etwas Tiefe. Wenn man jedoch nach einem leicht zu verdauendem Buch sucht, um ohne großes Gefühlschaos mal abschalten zu können, ist dieses hier definitiv eine Empfehlung wert.

Auch der zweite Band dieser Reihe hat mein Herz gestohlen und mir ein Zuhause zwischen den Seiten geboten. Die liebevoll geschaffenen Charaktere sowie die Geschichten rund um diese haben mich das Buch quasi verschlingen lassen. Es fehlte weder an Witz, noch an ersteren Themen und ich habe besonders mit Nataly wirklich mitfühlen können. Ich freue mich bereits, mit dem nächsten Band ein weiteres Mal in die Welt rund um Novel Haven eintauchen zu können. 🩷
