I really like Hazel as an FMC and I was more invested in this book compared to the first one and found myself unable to put it down most of the time! One thing I find odd about this duology though is how the “love story” part of it fluctuates between being an afterthought and the main focal point of the story. For most of this book I was starting to think that the “love” referred to in the title was her love for science 😂 but then suddenly we’re swept back into this romance that (imo) has very little chemistry between the characters. But overall I enjoyed the writing & the story itself - it really does read like a movie with the pacing and story progression. And I can always appreciate a story about women making a name for themselves in spaces they’re not welcome/allowed 🙌🏻

I know it’s the same narrator as the first 2 regular audiobooks but she sounds so different in the very beginning. 🤷🏻‍♀️

And who tf are all these people? I even did an Iron Flame reread that I finished right before this.
