Happy to say I finished the series but I prefer other invis other writing better such as the female series as she doesn’t emphasise emotions in this book but I could be wrong to assume this is the writing style and not the personality of the fmc being portrayed

There’s a large chance that I couldn’t explain half the concepts in this book but I can enjoy books when either the plot, character development, world building, writing is incredible when one is lacking. The world building was very abrupt but I don’t think it took from the story telling, the pacing in the end of the book was chaotic which I really enjoyed as when the characters are happy it can become a bit repetitive but not here. Really enjoyed this

Really enjoyed this book at first but I found that it swapped between romance as the plot to the plot of the orchard through fast paced interactions with lack of emotion. The confession of wanting more from the fake romance was very lacking in general, we went from words of affirmation to “I’ve had a crush on you”. Wish the romance and yearning was consistent through the book.

Insufferable fmc with no backbone. Horrible mmc with no likeable traits. Was excited with the cliffhanger but dnfed the next book within 20 pages

Best autism representation I’ve consumed in fictional media. So impressed of how Bennettes brain is alike my own. Palomas story and the breakdown of the plot was gripping and written very well. Really enjoyed this, will stay in my heart.

Really enjoyed the pacing and storyline, not a big fan of second chance but was happy with the enemies to lovers trope. Storyline kept me interested throughout

Pagebound recommended me this book, thank god I did not see the original cover pages as I do judge a book by its cover. Really enjoyed this.

Pacing was very bad, like no slow burn and the ending confirmed that 🩷

I think when you view books as intellectual property rather than storytelling you lose the element of freedom. I enjoyed psycho shifters a year or two ago and I saw the discourse of the way Jasmine Mas writes, I began to believe that if I read this book now I’d enjoy it less, but I did not. I find the internal dialogue entertaining when the scenes seems to be tiring due to their mundane nature (mental battles of studying). The rapid sentences also provided the storyline with rhythm as we weren’t jumping from one scene to the next choppily paced, but we seamlessly walked through the scenes.

I loved these books years ago so decided to revisit them. I didn’t enjoy this book, it was story telling without the emotional emphasis. Like a close proximity and an un forbidden romance should have yearning and guilt which it lacked so much. I wasn’t even anxious about what was going to happen when the best friend found out like I didn’t end up caring. The reason for the ‘now’ trip did not warrant any of the behaviour the bff had towards the fmc
