I've never been so stunned by my overwhelming interest in a book, in a LONG time! I havenât found myself so pulled to keep going and finishing the story.
I think what also helped was that this was done as a buddy read as well! Each time that me and my friend finished two chapters, we would keep talking about how we wanted to read more. Which lead to us finishing it in 2 weeks! Enough time to then also catch the movie with a group of friends. :3
I canât explain the attachment I have towards both Grace and Rocky, I havenât sobbed so hard from multiple chapters in a long time. Iâm not a pure sci-fi reader but everything felt very accessible and easy to read! (Although I will be honest and say I did lose myself when there would be huge walls of text of science stuff. I failed chemistry and barely passed biology guys,,,cut me some slack.)
I also had a blast with how funny and stupid this book was at times, it just made each character more charming and endearing.

my second ever Stephen King book! I think at the beginning there it is a little bit of a slug to get through but the middle and ESPECIALLY the end pick up so well. I couldn't help but keep reading as I was so intrigued by what was going to happen to Paul, and how Annie would react.
I think my main complaint has to do with how lacklustre that Paul is as a character. Of course, I wanted him to escape and survive and what he was going through was horrible, but he wasn't a very compelling character, unlike Annie. Who really was the star of the novel. However, I do understand that Paul might've been a bit more stripped back to make readers feel like they were Paul and the anxiety of being in that situation.
Either way! I enjoyed it, solid read probably more a 3.75 than 3.5 LOL.

Fellow boundlings, to mark the occasion I would like to ask you what's your favourite vampire book or character and why?
Here are the ones that came to my mind:
Book: Carmilla in Sheridan Le Fanu's Novella Carmilla; one of the most intriguing vampire characters who I would've loved to read the backstory of.
TV: Spike in Buffy the Vampire Slayer; his character arc was wild and disturbing at times, but I really appreciate how he grew as a character, and he was fun to watch too.
Movie: Dracula (Gary Oldman) in the 1992 movie Bram Stoker's Dracula; Oldman's portrayal of Dracula was brilliant, menacing, tragic and a bit whimsical.
"World Dracula Day is celebrated every year on May 26. The international holiday commemorates the publication date of Bram Stokerâs famous novel âDracula,â published on May 26, 1897."

Hello boundlings! Every time I listen to â drop deadâ by Olivia Rodrigo I reminds me of a book I once read. Like when I hear it it bring me back to that sweet little love story book. ( the book is âlove and gelatoâ by the way) I want to hear any music that inspires memories of past and present books! Sincerely CEO đŠâđź â¨đđđâ¨
