So... I accidentally spoiled myself trying to figure out how old the characters are... sad

I saw complaints about purple prose, and I kinda get it. Like, the phrase "tinted spectacles" was used twice when "sunglasses" was right there. Now, I can see term "sunglasses" feeling anachronistic but still... either way, I'm not too upset. My bank of new words is filling up nicely XD

Not a review, just some thoughts

I read this back in high school. If I remember correctly it was read over the summer in preparation for some sort of hybrid honors class. I don't remember enough for a review but I do remember viscerally hating it. Perhaps my 14 year old brain just didn't get it but I have no interest in trying it again.

... then again, I did have to reread Ethan Frome in college and gained a new appreciation for it.

    We may never know

    🤷🏾‍♀️
