Bella is entitled to not reciprocate Jacob's feelings. Bella is entitled to spend the rest of her life pining for Edward. I will go as far as to say that Bella, though crazy selfish, is entitled to lean on Jacob as a friend for as long as he makes himself available. Dude is aware of the situation and refuses to take the fucking L despite the very many EXCELLENT reasons to do so, so you know what, he's got to deal with the consequences of his own choices.
What Bella's not entitled to do, though, is to take Jacob up on the romance and emotionally nickel-and-dime him while fully devoted to delusion-Edward. The Paris comparison is foul, the reference to scraps is foul, the bludgeoning over the head with how out of the realm of possibility ever getting over Edward and falling for Jacob is is, you guessed it, foul. I don't know how the Team Jacob crowd did it back in the day, cause Jacob never had a chance in hell and the book verges on cruel about it.
