Eeeeeeeeek!!!!! I finished this book in one whole sitting (including the little Jesse's POV bonus chapter at the very end) and I do believe that I was cheesing and giggling and blushing my entire way through.

I think Viola and Jesse may be a top three Ali Hazelwood couple for me. The story was wonderfully paced, and I loved being inside Viola's head and how much her overthinking and realisations mirror my own when interacting with people and the outside world. Sweet baby cheeses, I think I need Ali to rewrite my legal cases and ethics textbooks so that I might be able to enjoy absorbing the information.

Ali will forever and always be an autobuy author for me!

I got confused a fair amount during it re the stronghold but otherwise it was a slay. Sad there was no knotting scene.

This was a whirlwind, pedal to the metal, roller coaster of a book. The only times I put it down was when I forced myself to drive ‘safely’ to work and even then my mind was still spinning with theories.

The chapters being titled as times gives an extra eeriness to the story and made me feel the same way I did when I played the Until Dawn game, with that encroaching dread of the clock ticking down and not knowing what you may find when times run out.

I think the plot was so well done in that you might have an inkling of where it’s headed and just when you (or maybe just me) think you’ve recovered, the rug gets pulled out from under you. I think the perspective shifts were fantastic, being able to slip between Ashley and Darby and Jay’s views at times so that the story still feels claustrophobic and contained, you don’t feel like you’ve been completely blindsided.

I apologise to everyone that had to endure through my many forum posts regarding this plot.
