Today I finished reading a book and since I was a bit busy I decided to leave a rating on my phone before I forgot and then write my review when I could get on my computer. After posting is when I found out that you get 1 point for ratings and 5 for reviews, but you only get the 5 points for leaving the review if you leave it at the same time that you're rating it but not after. I don't leave a lot of reviews and usually if I do I leave it at the same time as my rating so I wasn't aware of this until now, so I guess this counts as a little PSA for anybody else who didn't know :P

From the beginning it was "Davao Death Squad" I really think "DDS" became Duterte Diehard Supporters was like a rebranding of some sort. Trying to erase the violence behind the name.
I am aware that the former president really hated Congresswoman De Lima's guts as she did investigated him and his death squad after all. (Notes: as of writing she is a seating congresswoman) And not to be that girl but I just think that karma do finds it way now that the former president is waiting trial at ICC. And it still irks me that there are still people who still supports the former president. "Take his words as jokes" that is their common excuse. I know it would be more discussed in the next chapter but as far I am concerned who you support reflects who you as a person. Supporters may not directly pulled the trigger that killed those men but you are as accountable as them. You can not preach that he is making a city or the country safer by just creating fear, you do not address the problem clearly and by all sense killing doesn't know solve the drug problem. Drugs were still prevalent as he or his death squad mostly killed small time pushers and users are any bigger fish killed? The supply chain is still strong.
"Nanlaban" (He fought back) the common excuse for the killings, like mention from the chapter mostly were just planted evidence. One can not even properly defend himself, there is no justice once you become part of the hitlist.
He promoted violence thus violence became the answer for a quick solution but never a lasting one. He rose to fame because of his brute force compared to his predecessors who for him lack the strong hand in handling the real problems of the Filipinos.
