idk even know where to start…. cause honestly the first book wasn’t that bad all things considered. though if you look at my first review i am angry about a fair amount but the anger continued into the second book.
i think my biggest problem was the plot and the overall writing. in the first book i struggled sometimes with the writing in scenes where there was a lot of moving parts and i felt like it was far worse in this book. overall just very messy and hard to follow. and then the plot reallyyyyyyyy pulled my rating down of this book. i just don’t get how she foreshadowed for this one thing for so long and the scene came along and was done in about 5 pages????? are we serious???? and then it just kept going. i felt like i was being whipped around half time by all the stuff that was rammed into the book. sometimes it was just too much and not enough if that makes sense….?
i will say meryn definitely had a vast improvement on her character so im glad about that. uhhhhhh besides that the other characters are still alright imo but nothing earth shattering for me.
so yeah i often find the second book improves vastly but this felt so much worse. will i be sat for the second book? absolutely but purely cause i gotta know where this goes

A collection of the pilot books for popular series, for those of us who love to follow a character's journey for as long as an author will let us! Some of the below series have heavily debated starting points and book read orders--in those cases the pilot was selected based on what seems to be the most popular approach.
