This was a fun read I’d recommend to friends! The ending was satisfying and the plot twist was pretty good! The main gripe I have is that the character development and relationship building was really lacking for me. Sometimes those aspects felt like a “tell don’t show” situation. But the relationships were there and added to the plot well enough.

I am currently reading 'The Woman in Black' by Susan Hill and think it's a stunning book that is a nice introduction to horror. It's so atmospheric, ominous and eerie with what I think is a comfortable amount of discomfort and it's a decently short read.
