Have you ever had a book you are anxious to finish?
Like, you loved the book so much, you dont want it to end, rereading doesnt taste the same š¬ Does that ever push you towards not finishing a book? It happened to me many times, I didn't want the feelings to end when i read a book for first time, i would just pick another or delay reading so that book wouldnt end š

Iām wondering whether other readers often find themselves getting pulled out of a story bc of knowledge/expertise they have.
Iām a legal academic (or training to be one, as Iām in my PhD right now) and when I read a book with speculative/fantastical elements which mentions how that interacts with the real legal system Iām always like š„“š§
I read a book recently where someoneās memory had been altered (in the near future) and the UK courts decided not to return his memories because it might be traumatic and I was like? Really?
Edited bc I was getting downvoted either for mentioning smth or for criticizing it, idk

Uggh. Have I mentioned that I hate Henry? When heās not ignoring Lenore or abandoning her, heās dismissing her comments and patronizing her. He treats his 30 yr old wife like a child; he makes me furious! š”

To those who love to read fanfics like me, what is fanfic to you?
For me, I read fanfics so that I could take a breath from regular books. It may sound a little weird, like what do I mean when I'm tired reading, I'll read something else.
To me, reading fanfic is more simple. I think it's because I am already familiar with the character's personality, the world building and the settings. It's like 'ah I've met those guys and I know them' kind of thing.
What about you?

If I can log the fanfics I read on AO3 here I wouldāve logged probably hundreds of books with questionable titles š¤£š¤£

I absolutely loathe books which are more than 700 pages and are interconnected The only exception to this is Chloe walsh books I couldn't finish the zodiac academy and stopped on book 4 or 5 cause the twins were going through it
Do we really need long books?

Does anyone else be having the inclination to read large chunks of their book once it becomes nighttime then end up falling asleep after two pages? I always just love the nighttime because itās the perfect time where Iām just alone and surrounded by a calm environment with nothing to worry about. I always say itās the part of my day where Iāll stay up for hours to read. But then I just end up falling asleep and waking up the next morning with my kindle on my face š.
Am I alone on this? (Writing this post at 1:35 a.m. hoping to get some reading done, but I already know whatās abt to happen š)

I love this quest and americana is one of my all time favourite genres. I'm one short of platinum and here lies my petty problem. I love the gold badge most and have collected gold and bronze badges for my profile. To read one more or not to read? šš¤
