✨ Adult Sapphic Cozy Romantasy ✨ Third Person, Dual POV ✨ 2.5/5 Spice Level ✨ Series Book 3 ✨ Rep: bisexual rep, autistic MC

    I recommend if you enjoy…

    • The first two books!
    • Cozy romantasy
    • Touch her and die vibes but also…
    • … she isn’t a damsel in distress.
    • Queer-normative world
    • Political intrigue

General thoughts… I was SO excited for this book. When I started this trilogy earlier this year, I was so eager for the next book… Then I was in luck when I found out ALL three books were coming out the same year!!

    Some things I loved…

    • Tarinne… and the author is well aware that I’m obsessed with her.
    • This felt like such a satisfying conclusion to the series, and I really liked how everything played out (as well as came together) from the two previous books.
    • Each book has built upon the world building. As this is a cozy fantasy, the world building feels more subtle-y integrated to the book which I felt worked well.
    • Rylla is genuinely such a lovable character, and I like how that plays out within the book itself as well (even though as the reader, it’s always felt very clear). She’s so genuine, and I love how strong she is in ways other than her physicality (she has Tarinne for that, ha).

    Some things to consider…

    • This is the last book in the series, so there aren’t any more coming out… but also this is a completed series so you can binge it! The books aren’t too long either, making them great for reading one after the other (no burnout from a series of books with 500+ pages each).
    • While this book is cozy by my definition, it definitely also has some darker themes. If you’re looking for pure fluff, this probably isn’t the right book.

Final thoughts… I am so sad in some ways to come to the end of this series, but I’m glad I was able to hop in from the start. What a great way to round out the year… I only hope that there will be more books/series set in this world in the future, as I’ve really come to enjoy it so much! Definitely recommend!

✨ Sapphic Adult Contemporary Romance ✨ First Person, Single POV ✨ 3.5/5 Spice Level ✨ Series Book 2 ✨ Rep: lesbian rep

    I recommend if you enjoy…

    • One night stand to lovers
    • Friends with benefits
    • Long distance
    • Keeping it a secret
    • Spice with your sweet
    • Shorter reads

General thoughts… I read the first installment in this series (Yours for the Weekend) and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I was incredibly excited to read this one. I ended up enjoying this one even more than the first, so it did not disappoint!

    Some things I loved…

    • I knew going into this book that it was on the shorter side (it is a novella after all), and I thought the length worked well. The pacing was good and definitely hit the spot of what I was looking for.
    • The spice was spicing! I thought it was very well done, and I actually told a friend she had to read it purely for this reason.
    • I found the main characters likable, and I really liked the dynamic between them. It was fun and sexy.

    Some things to consider…

    • This is a shorter book, it definitely won’t hit the spot if you’re looking for a longer romance.
    • This is NOT a slow burn. (And I’m not mad about it!)

Final thoughts… I’m not sure how many books Briegh is planning for this series, but I wouldn’t be mad if it continues for a while… A spicy, fun romance novella series I enjoy. The length makes them great for quick buddy reads as well as relaxing holiday/vacation reads. Definitely worth the read.

✨ Literary Fiction ✨ First Person, Single POV ✨ 0/5 Spice Level ✨ Standalone ✨ Rep: lesbian MC, trans SC

    I recommend if you enjoy…

    • Emily Austin’s other books!
    • Literary fiction
    • Character-driven novels
    • Neurospicy MCs
    • Sapphic books without a focus on romance

General thoughts… This is the third book I’ve read by Emily Austin. I enjoyed the previous books. Particularly the quirky characters (that I still find relatable). Emily definitely has a distinctive writing voice.

    Some things I loved…

    • I found the over-arching storyline intriguing. While this isn’t a fast paced book in terms of plot, reading it felt like slowly peeling back the layers of the story.
    • I thought the main character was relatable to me and things going on in my personal life (which made her even more relatable).
    • I liked that the book discussed the main character’s journey with coming out and also touched on some political/social topics that are currently relevant.

    Some things to consider…

    • If you’re looking for something plot focused or romance focused, skip this one.
    • I do wish there had been a bit more discussion surrounding the MC’s age gap relationship as a teenager. While it wasn’t glossed over, I think I would have preferred the top to be approached in a different way.

Final thoughts… Overall, this book offered what I expected it to! If you are a fan of Emily’s work, I definitely recommend checking this one out. It felt like a calmer but weighted read to me and was a good break from some of my other books.

    I recommend if you enjoy…

    • Childhood Crush Romances
    • Older Brother’s Bestie/Ex
    • Small Town Romances
    • Small Business Owner
    • Popcorn!

General thoughts… While this was an ARC, I was lucky enough to also be able to buddy read this with my friend! I’m a big fan of small town romances, and I loved that one of the MC’s owns a popcorn shop. All the different popcorn flavors being mentioned… definitely worked up my appetite and made me thing about what the different flavors mentioned in the book would taste like (totally not the “point” of the book but an aspect I enjoyed nonetheless!)

    Some things I loved…

    • Big fan of the whole former childhood crush aspect (especially after that got revealed to the crush in question).
    • As mentioned before… popcorn!
    • I loved Hannah’s interactions with the customers and how her passion for her work shined through.
    • The older brother’s ex/older brother’s bestie trope worked well for me. I liked how Riley and Hannah’s history together played out as well as their current, very obvious, attraction to one another.
    • I thought the romance overall was very cute/sweet. The spice is there, but it definitely leans more into the sweet romance vibe.

    Some things to consider…

    • This is a romance book with spice; however, the spice is a little on the lighter side imo. That being said, it still includes explicit content.
    • The third act drama… I could have taken it or left it. It wasn’t the worst because I could see where it was coming from, but it isn’t my favorite plot device in romance books.

Final thoughts… Overall this was such a cute and fun small town romances! It read more sweet than spicy. This was my first book by the author, and I would be interested in reading more by Georgia!

✨ Adult Science Fiction ✨ Third Person POV ✨ 1/5 Spice Level ✨ Series Book 1 ✨ Rep: sapphic

    I recommend if you enjoy…

    • Science fiction with political themes
    • Slow burn
    • Dystopian societies
    • Rebellion

General thoughts… I was on a sci-fic kick, so I just had to get my hands on this book. And since it’s the first book in a series, I’ll have even more to look forward to. Also, I love the cover. It screams “SCI-FI” to me in such a satisfying way.

    Some things I loved…

    • Totally not relevant to the contents of the book, but the MCs names. Fletcher and Sparrow? Fantastic and go great together. Obsessed with their names.
    • This book has themes that are absolutely relevant to the current political climate in the United States. I thought this made the book relatable and thought provoking. There were times it did feel a bit heavy or perhaps “hit too close to home”, but I think that’s part of what made the book so good for me. (Especially being a sci-fi.)
    • The romance is secondary to the main plot, but it feels so genuine and caring. I’m looking forward to seeing how their relationship develops moving forward.

    Some things to consider…

    • The spice is closed door. If you’re looking for something spicier right now, this isn’t going to meet your needs.
    • There are some pretty heavy (but important!) themes in this book. I’d recommend taking that in consideration before jumping in.

Final thoughts… I love sci-fi. I’ve always been a huge fan of it, and I always need more sapphic sci-fi rep out there. Combined with the dystopian elements, this book really hit a lot of things right for me. If you’re looking for a dystopian sci-fi novel (that’s the start of a series!) with sapphic rep, I’d say look no further.
