As someone who loves Pride and Prejudice, I was excited going into this to hear a witchy version of Lydia's story. And I was not disappointed at all. While it starts a little slow, the story soon picks up and delivers a wonderful version of the events that took place in Brighton and after the Pride and Prejudice story ended. The magic system in the book is well defined and works perfectly with the story, lending it strength. I liked Lydia's character, and seeing how she grew into a respectable (though still silly) person while viewing herself as something wicked was really enjoyable. There is a lot of heart in this book, as well as adventure and silliness, and it was good fun to read.

What a wild ride this was! Angel and Sidney sure do have a knack for getting in way over their heads! But they work so well together and are genuinely good people, it makes it a lot of fun to read. Especially with how snarky Amgel is. This was just as good as the first one. I'm excited to read more

This was fun and kept me on my toes while reading, which is always fun for a mystery to do. I liked Angel and Sidney a lot. Their dynamic cracks me up,and I genuinely liked that, under her very gruff exterior, Angel cares about protecting people and doing the right thing. It was a good mystery (crazy, crazy mystery) and I think it set up the plot nicely going into the next book.

This book was fine. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, but I did think that the representation in the book was good. There were some super frustrating parts, and some bits that made me roll my eyes, but it wasn't enough for me to put it down. Like I said, it was fine. Probably not good enough to read the next one, and I didn't love Ethans so having him as the MMC...meh.
