Nic got to his feet behind me. “I think they were plotting something.”
I set Fred down and turned to him. “What is it with you and cats?”
He pointed past me. “Look at them and tell me I’m wrong.”
I turned. Fred and Maud were sitting right next to each other on the couch, staring unblinkingly at Nic. Okay, maybe he had a point.

Josh caught the door before it could swing shut behind them and looked imploringly at his fiancée. “Baby, pleaaase?”
“No!” Aly yelled back.“Not even in their little outdoor enclosure?” Josh whined.
“They cannot come outside,” Aly said. “They’ll just cry the whole time, and you know it.”
Josh stuck out his lower lip. “But they’ll be so sad all alone inside.”
Aly stomped over to Josh. “They’ll be fine. Stop making me feel like a bad mother.”

He threw his glass at my head.
I barely ducked in time to keep from getting hit, but there was no stopping the ruby red liquid from soaking me and Lauren.
She gasped, pushing back from the table, and then everything was happening at once. Aly, on her feet, yelling; Josh holding her back; Mom shoving Dad so hard he went tipping over sideways in his chair; Stefan slipping out of the room; Greg and Alec exchanging looks like they didn’t know whether or not they should follow after him.
THIS SO DRAMATIC AND WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAV CHAPTER. Stefan be like, "I'm out"

She lifted her glass and took a sip of her wine, unperturbed. “Nah, I think I’ll stay right where I am.”

For me, this book is darker, and crazier than the previous book. I prefer the plot here over the last one (even though it was a bit slow at the start, it got really exciting as it headed toward the end). I have to admit, my expression in almost every chapter was like 😳 (especially the first scene at Velvet, I'm a bit traumatized just like Junior).
The appearance of Josh and Aly also made things more interesting. Junior finally admit his friendship with Josh, also the way Aly and Lauren bonding, they are so cute together. I must say, that final dinner with Nico’s family was so messed up. I'm happy that he got a new family with Josh and others (inc Fred)
