DNFed at 27% Reading a variant of the word knucklehead for the nth time did it for me. I really wanted to like this book. I was so excited to dive deep into it. But, unfortunately, it's not for me. This was not as interesting as I thought it would be.

I immediately opened this book after going through the reviews of Let Me In Your Window (LMIYW). Most of them mentioned how this book is better in comparison. And the verdict is.....I agree, to a certain extent. I loved the stories, storytelling, and the little notes encompassing the inspiration behind each story by Ellis.
👍 From the very first story onwards, I was captivated. I frlt the pace and length of the short stories were well-maintained. My favourite story out of everything is 'Bus Stop'. It was packed with tension but the ending took a route which was least expected (by me).
🎨 The artwork improved in LMIYW, but it still holds the same magic in this one. Shout out to the wonderful artist collaborators for creating all those beautiful backgrounds. After reading both these books, all I know is that I would like to see more of such work from Adam Ellis.

I've seen some of Adam Ellis' artwork on Instagram; the stories with a pinch of horror are some of my favourite comics of his. And not to mention his immaculate art style. These are few of the reasons that prompted me to pick up his book Let Me In Your Window.
👎 I went into this book hoping that at least majority of the segments will leave me feeling thrilled or in anticipation of what's going to happen next. It definitely left me wanting more because the ending of most of the stories felt incomplete. There's a difference in being ambiguous and stopping because you don't know how to move forward. This book felt like the latter. Apart from maybe two or three stories, this collection was a miss for me.
👍 The segment that elevated the reading experience was the final one titled 'ReBrand'. The plot twist BLEW my mind away - there were clues everywhere leading up to that climax. Another story that I thought was well done was 'Rumble Queen'. Even though a reader would have guessed the turning point of that story, it was very well executed (in my opinion) through the artwork and framing of the entire scene. Special mentions to the innovative communication method shown in 'Hello Charlie', and the eerie plot twist in 'Sleepwalker'.
🎨 The art is chef's kiss, and I would say this book should be given a try for the characters, colours, and the atmosphere created by Ellis.
