don't hate me, but i enjoyed nothing about this book!
the characters are all flat out miserable and really insufferable if i'm being honest, nelly was cool because she eavesdropped on them. but even then, there's no clear deduction of whose pov you're reading from until it suddenly makes sense which i hated. it took me basically a quarter of the book to even know who i was hearing the story from.
i honestly thought this book was pretty boring, and it was written fine, but it just was not very interesting to me. i typically enjoyed classics growing up, but this one did not do it for me. had to finish it so i could get the sparkly winter badge otherwise i probably would have given up on it long ago
