a darling little story reminiscent of Before The Coffee Gets Cold, in that both are stories of love and grief and family told through a vaguely supernatural shop. don’t let the pretty pink cover fool you, this book packs a punch.

Oh this got sad VERY fast. Emotional whiplash from the cozy open. ❤️🩹

a well worn cliche of a kid getting bullied & then dragged into a world of magic/paranormal activity. a story of love and friendship and family. thoroughly engaging and well paced. hints just enough to get you where the author wants you to go. not at all as supernatural as i expected, but arguably just as haunting.

a slow moving, creeping horror. i found the audiobook narrator perfect for the role & enjoyed the story, even as it took a while to get anywhere particularly haunting. only really vaguely horrifying.
