This was wonderful! I even liked the singing in the audiobook, which is unheard of :P It does such a great job of exploring privilege and class differences, while also promoting leadership from within rather than leadership from above. I loved the message of it all so much.

I've just cut half a star because the romance 100% did not land for me. But as an adult reading YA, I wasn't really expecting it to anyway.

OMG that ending! I loved it! Such solid story-telling that comes together in such a clever way.

(Just a little bit too many battle scenes, crass humour, and incest for me, but honestly, the ending made up for all of it)

This was not for me. It wasn't really thrilling (at least until the very very end) and there was never really a mystery, since every time something happens, you then get other characters' perspectives explaining everything to you. And it explains a lot (in a very literary way, which is not my taste). Some of it felt like a political manifesto, which was tiring to read even when I did agree with some of the ideas.

The ending would have been the best part except it skipped over a lot and came into the action in the middle and then jumped out without a proper ending.

This made me laugh more than it horrified me 😅, especially in the second half. If you too have been traumatised by the corporate world, I am sure you will find plenty in here to relate to. But also, it's pretty short and there's not too much to it in the end.

Unsurprisingly, I did not care about the romance in this at all, and there was much more of it than I would have liked, although about what you would expect when picking this up. But! I did love the wish-based magic ✨ and I think the world has a lot of potential - looking forward to continuing the series :)

The problem I have with Supergirl media, is that I just want her to be me 😅 She wasn't at all like me in this, but that is not a particularly valid review lol. A fun adventure, although Supergirl is almost a side character in some ways, since the story is told from another character's perspective. I did love the colour palettes 🌈

Ah, the nostalgia! This adapts the first bsc book that I ever read. I remember getting my mum to buy it for me from the Scholastic book club :) A quality adaptation :)
