gosh this was such a ride! i won’t lie i had a moment right towards the end where i wanted to dnf because everything just felt like it was going on in circles and i was so fed up i didn’t even care if i didn’t find out what the big deal was but boy! do i love that i stuck with it!! the plot twist in the final chapters really got me and i love when we know where everyone ends up in the end! (well most everyone…). i do think that the ending was a bit too flat and i can see why that wouldn’t appeal to a lot of people, also i can’t speak for lucy foley’s previous books nor her writing style because i haven’t read anything else by her but this one book really made me want to get to know her books more and i loved how she handled the issues existent in this book, she didn’t make an attempt to solve it and bring world peace, she just let her characters deal with them like adults. loved that. there were a LOT of POVs so that’s another thing people might dislike, and to be fair if i was reading this as a proper book and not as an audiobook then i think i wouldn’t have had such a distinct voice for every character in my mind, so that’s something to keep in mind if one would like to pick this up!
