A twist on a well known fairytale told in a classic way - nothing groundbreaking but a warm, easy read

This book broke me in the best way. I’m obsessed. I could read it all over again and still fall in love with the characters in every single way. The writing is beautiful, the setting is amazing and I just need more! I can’t wait to read the next book!

I fear I may be in love with all these characters and now I’m nearing the end I don’t want to let them go! 😭 why must books end?! 🤭

A boring retelling that led down a predictable path with no real tension. The main character is insufferable and everything seems to just land in her path without having to work for it, there’s no real chemistry between any of the characters and the writing is very basic. I’m disappointed because the premise could have been great, with a corrupt kingdom and a group of rebels fighting the injustice. Instead we got a teenager with a superiority complex pining over a girl with an attitude she just met.

A lovely backstory that lends depth to Elphie’s character
