đŸŒ·(she/her) My favorite genre is deliberately anachronistic funny historical fiction (Think: The Great / Dickinson / Our Flag Means Death but in book form). Bonus points if it’s queer! đŸ©·đŸ€đŸ§Ą

On one of our early dates, Caleb had said he wasn’t “book smart,” but that wasn’t the full truth, was it? The full truth was that he wasn’t anything smart.

My favorite thing about this book so far is that her husband keeps catching random strays😭😭

I like the exploration of Natalie’s relationship with motherhood both as a mother and as a daughter

I thought this was going to be over-the-top satire given the character’s tone at the beginning, but with each new chapter the author gives her a lot depth which is such a pleasant surprise

Kudos to the author for nailing this character’s voice. It’s so fascinating I can’t stop reading, but with every sentence the MC says my face discovers new and exciting ways to contort

As I stared at my philandering moron of a husband, I gave myself a mental pat on the back for all the work I’d done over the years to harden myself against the world.

I know she’s supposed to be insufferable but this is genuinely making me realize I want to read more books where women think about the useless men in their lives this way 😭

“The tension between the siblings was blood-thick.” woaaah I need to get into C.L. Clark’s other books. Her writing is so concise yet so impactful. So excited!
