  • weird/witty black women mcs?

I am a lover of books with humorous, witty, or creative writing styles (especially with skillful and interesting figurative language), and a lover of a lot of the “weird girl” litfic books out there, but so many of the popular ones are really white! I want more black main characters and authors (especially black women but men would be fine too) but with that same kind of fun-to-read writing style.

I like all genres but don’t read much fantasy, and I don’t mind fiction or non-fiction!! I prefer general/adult over young adult but if it’s written smartly I don’t mind either. LGBTQ+ books are always a plus as well.

Does anyone have a recommendation like this? <3

For the first time in a decade, I read an entire book in one day. I could not put this down. What a lovely book.

I’ve never read a “self help” book before, but my old therapist recommended it and I’m glad they did! It’s very easy to read, paragraphs broken up well by “bolded” (teal-colored) text, graphics, and exercises. The tone and content of the writing is extremely non-judgmental and supportive, and I actually feel like I’m learning things!
