The individual stories and the way the lives of their protagonists are connected were interesting, but unfortunately, Gardi's writing style just couldn't fully convince me.
Too repetitive; I don't mind some repetition as a stylistic device, but when authors repeat plot points and names like readers aren't really paying attention it makes it hard to finish the book. With Liefern, I'm sure a few pages could've been cut to make the whole text more concise

I have several things to say:
1) Why didn't this person go to therapy after burning out?
2) Why was the first story so good and the other 4 so boring?
3) I thought I was feeling tired/exhausted but turns out, me falling asleep with this book was not a symptom of my tiredness, but the cause of it.
4) When am I ever going to learn and stop buying books "about nothing" just because the title/cover are aesthetic?

DNF at 40. Books that are intentionally boring should not be allowed and I resent being gaslit
