I'm absolutely loving the random insect facts scattered throughout the book
"did you know that the wasp larvae will deliberately avoid vital organs of the host as long as possible, in order to preserve its life, and thus, presumably, its freshness?" I didn't but I know now and will probably remember for the rest of my life because thats cool as hell.

A time was had… I guess? The first book was a ride, but at least an entertaining one. This one was.. oof. Plot holes from the start, little to no character progression, the major conflicts generally didn’t feel like they carried any weight + didn’t have satisfying conclusions, and the end was so abrupt? The smut was fairly well written- but it felt like that’s the only part effort was really put in. I only read to the end because I liked a couple of the side characters tbh
