i love weird books about messy queer people. i love books who don’t really make sense. and i love reading not really appropriate books on public transportation. it is a book about being queer, about being a girl, being a boy and being neither, about grief, about never knowing where you should go, about forgetting to call back, about losing yourself and never knowing if there is a "self" to be found. it was weird but i had a great time. i didn’t like every sex scene but it wasn’t really the point. sex is important, essential even to this story. i don’t know if i like the main character or if i know him — but i think i feel him deeply. she did made me feel very stupid because i had very few of her music and cinema references but i always like that in a book. i definitely won’t recommend it to everyone around me but i think it changed me somehow. i don’t know how cis people would feel about this book? anyway, fun time (i cried).
