Has anyone tried the new feature in Libby? You insert #inspireme in the search function and it will come up with a set of choices available in that particular public library. It eventually narrows to about five or so choices.
I picked “fiction” for “adults” that is “rogish” and a wide variety of categories across multiple genres were provided. From that list I chose “scoundrels gambling, scheming, and seducing in Regency London.” All the choices seemed to fit the bill, and I’d read none of them before.
It was fun, and (IMO) a lot better way to use AI than trying to use it than creating new works in creative spheres. I suspect if I’d been in the library itself though, I might have preferred speaking with the librarian. Well, at least if it wasn’t romance I was looking for (you know: stigma, misogyny, and all that).
Edit: I should add the books were all available immediately.

Honestly I'm not sure I'm gonna pick that book up again? Might be a soft DNF, not sure yet. It just seems like I don't care about the characters anymore? Crickett annoys me so much, I need her to get over herself. And I need Mia to just do something? It feels like she lives her life on the backseat and it's just.....
Anyway, we'll see how I feel near the end of the year. If I struggle to complete my reading goal, I might just finish it out of spite

Reading this conclusion chapter in 2025 is breaking my heart. Like: There is still the possibility that Israel could attempt to reprise the expulsions of 1948 and 1967 and rid itself of some or all of the Palestinians who tenaciously remain in their homeland (...) But the ferocious fight that Palestinians would wage against their removal, the intense international attention to the conflict, and the growing currency of the Palestinian narrative all mitigate against such a prospect.

i like to annotate while reading because i find it fun to look back on my annotations after finishing a book. but when i listen to audiobooks, i don't really get to "annotate" my thoughts and that used to frustrate me a lot because idk it's such a waste!!! but now thanks to pagebound all i have to do is post in the book's forum, write my thoughts right after ive listened to something i want to comment on, then boom! it's out there in the world!
idk pagebound's just made it sm more fun to listen to audiobooks and i wanted to express my appreciation for it!!!

Do you judge a book by its cover... be honest 👀
I do judge a book by it's cover. I'm not a fan of real people on book covers unless it's a biopic or something.

I take Advanced English as an extra subject. The exam consists of three essays, one of which requires us to reference 3-4 books from our own reading.
However, most of the books I’ve read this year haven’t really been essay-acceptable (fun easy YA reads, Romantasy books, etc).
Soo if anyone has any books that are interesting and deep enough to use for an essay, that are preferably not too difficult to read I’d love to know :) bonus points for fantasy and sci-if, so long as it’s not anACOTAR or Fourth wing kind of fantasy.

Yesterday I was going for a jog around the lake in my area when I passed a gal who was straight up reading her paperback book while walking the lake (at a decent pace, I might add). Insanely impressive.
It took everything in me not to be the weirdo asking hey are you on Pagebound because you should be!
It reminded me of a girl in elementary school who used to be able to read while walking but I always thought that was sort of an out of a desperate necessity to keep reading while going where the grownups told her to go sort of a thing.

This quote will forever stay with me :
"Humans didn't evolve by staying in one place. It's in our blood. Go back a few generations and everybody has an immigrant in the family tree [...] However disruptive, migration has time and again proven to be one of the most powerful driver of progress"
