Not only was it such a fun and fluffy read but it painted such a colourful picture of New Orleans and Vietnamese American culture that I thoroughly enjoyed! Iām so interested to learn more about both these aspects together and separately.
After reading this I think might actually like insta love you know š Josie and Spencerās meet cute was super cute and funny, Spencer was so charming and a ball of sunshine and energy and Josie was incredibly relatable, (fellow older sister and worrier of how my little sister is constantly). In addition to Josie and Spencerās characterisations, I ADORED Spencerās grandmother, such a firecracker as well as Josieās friends!
I also appreciated the conversation surrounding immigrant communities, children of immigrants and their mindset (Spencer thinking he needs xyz job to make his parents proud instead of doing things for himself) as well as the acknowledgment of anti-blackness in other minority groups.
