It took me so long to gather my thoughts for this book.
First off, I love how Khaeric and Aeryn meet, as they got a little bit of insight into each other. Of course, they weren’t anywhere near an understanding of each other but it gave a taste before the political mask went on.
Secondly, I’m not usually one to read a book with politics in it but this was good. It should show how each group dealt with the racism going on, the micro-aggression, the impact it had on both groups but especially the impact on the Orcs, how Aeryn took the time to educate herself, and how even though his people were wronged Khaeric didn’t take that out on Aeryn. Very interesting to see how this author went about that.
Thirdly, loved Khaeric and Aeryn’s relationship. The mutual yearning, how fiercely Khaeric protected and loved Aeryn, Aeryn’s openness and willing to learn and try, and the COMMUNICATION! Oh my, I loved how they communicated. Even when they fought they talked about it and that was the hottest thing in this book to me.
All in all, I was hooked and now need a physical copy of this book. I’m excited to see what happens in the next book as well.

Another amazing read by Emily!
📖Grumpy x Sunshine 📖Size Difference 📖Slow Burn 📖Forced Proximity 🐓Doodle
This was really adorable and hilarious, I just knew it would be from the title.
Off bat, I enjoyed both characters, both Cal (MMc) and Belle (FMC) are stubborn as a mule but have giant hearts. The slow burn between them was great, them butting heads but still wanting to be around the other had me wanting to kick my feet. I love a good yearn in a book I can't help it!
Then I love it when books have an animal companion, Doodle was a menace but a cute one that I loved. After the first meeting with him, I am anticipating the next time he'll come around.
I'm really can't wait to see where this series goes, book one was amazing and I just have a feeling the rest of the series will be too.
