1/4 of the books Iāve read this year have been in the game changers series and I fear that if iām not reading game changers iām just not as motivated to read, which is very unfortunate. I also set myself the loftiest goal of my adult reading journey so far, 52. A giant step up from my usual 12. But Iāve already read 12 books this year so I figured Iāve set a good pace. I guess iām scared of the potentially oncoming massive slump I usually get into where I read one book until June and then cram in the last half the year.
The good news is I have multiple holds on libby Iām excited about and my two current reads are library books also so they must be read in a timely manner.
Would love to hear anyones thoughts on 2026 reading goals, slumps, and the Game Changerās series! Also what holds or tbr books youāre excited for!

For people that thrift, how do you personally go about it?
I get the majority of my books off of Thriftbooks, I know some people have had bad experiences with them but I personally have only ever gotten one book that wasn't the quality described, and when I contacted them they immediately sent me a replacement, so I like them a lot.
I wish I had thrift stores near me that had books I would actually want to read, not much in terms of speculative fiction around here š
I've tried looking at Pangobooks, but it kind of intimidates me idk why š I feel like the website never works well for me and feels unintuitive, have any of you tried it and liked it?

I'm too scared to start The Long Game. All I hear is that it's angsty as fuck but after Role Model I don't think I have the strength. Ilya was too silly goofy in it for me to be able to handle anything else. If there is One (1) Sad Ilya scene I will launch myself into outerspace and I will never look back. I will go live in the woods. I will burrow into the center of the earth somebody sedate me

My 5 star plot rating is relative because this book is about half pure plot no smut which is impressive for a smut series. Absolutely adorable. If youāre thinking about reading this after the long game definitely do it! Canāt wait to see these two on screen.
