I think this may be my favorite of the Sherwood Witches books so far. I’m sure the werewolves and fated mates romance had something to do with that.

Effie is my favorite Sherwood sister so far. She’s wild, impulsive, and so chaotic, but she’s also super smart and always thinking several steps ahead. And then there’s Darius, the gruff, solitary werewolf alpha who insists on keeping Effie at arm’s length while his inner wolf is screaming, “She’s ours.” Watching him try to deny what’s happening between them was so much fun.

Their banter had me giggling and kicking my feet, and their chemistry is HOT. There’s a sexy waterfall encounter that gives some local naiads a bit more of a 👀show than they probably expected. The spice definitely delivered, and Effie and Darius have the kind of chemistry that makes it very easy to see why neither of them can stay away from the other.

I really loved how strong and stubborn Effie was. She wasn’t about to sit back and let Darius handle everything himself, especially when it came to saving his pack and taking on the Council. The pack politics and ongoing conflict with the Council are a strong addition to the story and do a great job of tying the series together, while giving the story more stakes beyond just their relationship.

If you’re into witchy rom-coms, grumpy werewolf alphas, fated mates, spicy chemistry, and a little magical political intrigue, this one is definitely worth picking up!

This book is definitely a little slower than the first, with more focus on Pack politics, alliances, and navigating the agendas of different Alphas rather than a lot of action. Surprisingly, I was really invested in the political side of things and enjoyed seeing how everything played out. And when the action does pick up, Cordelia gets plenty of opportunities to prove she can hold her own despite not being a shifter herself.

I continue to absolutely love Cordelia and Bishop, especially together. These two are basically the complete opposite of the miscommunication trope. They’re open, honest, and actually talk through their problems and feelings, which I appreciate SO much. That said, we get a LOT of that in this installment, and at times it came very close to feeling like too much.

I also loved getting to see more of some of the side characters, especially Rufus and Ann. There’s definitely a found-family vibes, and I have a feeling there might be something more brewing between those two later on.

The romance continues to be a highlight, and things finally get spicy between Cordelia and Bishop with a spicy primal chase through the forest. It’s not the spiciest book I’ve read, but the scene definitely delivered on the fun factor.

And that ending finally gets us to what I’d been expecting this book to tackle after the way the first one ended. It took a while to get there, but now I’m definitely interested in seeing where the story goes next!

Like the first book, I’d recommend this series to anyone who enjoys Victorian-era shifters and witches, especially if you like your paranormal romance with political intrigue, pack dynamics, and plenty of romance mixed in.

Another cute addition to the Haven Ever After series! This time we get a friends-to-lovers romance between Alo, a single dad gargoyle and Protector of Ever, and Miriam, a candy-making pixie who has been not-so-secretly pining after him for YEARS. They already have such a strong friendship, so watching them finally take that next step was very satisfying.

Alo’s biggest obstacle is his belief that being a good dad means giving 100% of himself to Iggy and sacrificing his own happiness. I really liked seeing him realize that he doesn’t have to choose between being a good father and having a life and love of his own. And since Miriam has known Iggy since he was a baby, her already being such an important part of their lives made their transition into a romantic relationship feel more natural. Miriam is such a fun FMC! She’s energetic and mischievous, but she’s also formidable in her own right. I loved that, as a pixie who is already familiar with the monster world, she didn’t need the same learning curve as some of the previous FMCs.

There’s plenty of spicy spice here, including some wing play, primal chase, and some experimentation with Miriam’s small form.

The Howl-O-Ween party storyline was also ridiculously cute and made this feel like a perfect fall read. Meanwhile, the overarching threat to the havens continues, and I’m definitely invested in seeing how everything plays out with that.

Another entertaining installment in the series and, as I mentioned, a fun fall read but I’d definitely recommend reading the first two books before jumping into this one.

This was another fun addition to the Sherwood Witches series. I really enjoyed the rivals-to-lovers setup, especially with the added complication of a secret marriage. Erik definitely doesn't make the best first impression after tricking Leona into a binding handfasting, and I'll admit that part still feels a little icky since it isn't really addressed later. But... he did win me over in the end. I am just really into an overconfident MMC.

I absolutely loved the banter between Erik and Leona and watching their relationship shift as they spent more time together. Leona starts out as such a responsible goody two shoes, always feeling like she has to do everything right as the family heir, and I enjoyed seeing Erik loosen her up a little. I also really felt for Erik as we learned more about his relationship with his narcissistic father. Those moments gave him a lot more depth.

The road trip was a ton of fun and came with some wonderfully weird magical stops, including a sexy satyr hotel, a sentient inn that's in love with its caretaker, and some very lonely vegan trolls.

There's a decent amount of spice, starting pretty early with the flashback to how Erik and Leona got together, but it never felt like too much to me. And I loved getting little glimpses of the main characters from the next book. After those cameos, I'm definitely looking forward to diving into their story when I ARC read it.

Overall, this was a fun, spicy read with great banter, magical adventures, and another peek into the chaotic world of the Sherwood witches.

Another Man’s Treasure is officially my favorite book in the Pine Gulch Ever After series. I already loved Oz from previous books so putting him in a fake-dating story and I am obsessed.

Oz is sassy, funny, and so much fun to have around, so I was so excited when he got his own story. I loved learning about how he rebuilt his confidence after his toxic ex and realized that he deserves someone who wants him exactly as he is. And then along comes stoic, secret softie Wilder.

The progression from fake mates to real feelings was so good. Wilder’s protectiveness of Oz, even when their relationship was supposedly just an act, had me swooning. And there is one particular grand gesture that absolutely had me in tears.

And we can't forget Ginger… an incredibly sweet pittie/hellhound that is basically impossible to resist, especially when Oz and Ginger are wearing matching onesie pajamas. Wilder didn’t stand a chance.

I also loved getting even more of the Pine Gulch found family, especially with Wilder’s sister joining the crew. She is such a fun addition, and now I’m very ready for her story! The mystery surrounding Pine Gulch’s history was another fun layer, and I loved getting more of the lore behind this weird, wonderful little town.

And I remain absolutely obsessed with the gargoyle lore that their heart only starts for their mate. I will never get tired of this.

The spice is spicy and plentiful, and... we get some buckle bunny role-play. 🐇😉

Hazel Mack has once again given us a story full of lovable, quirky characters, found family feels, and plenty of heat. I am officially even more invested in Pine Gulch, and I need the next book now!

It’s officially time to say it: the Cowboy Colony Mail-Order Brides series has solidified itself as one of my top 3 series. I can't get enough.

I tend to veer away from pregnancy stories, but apparently all it takes is a grumpy alien cowboy holding a baby and smiling at her to change my mind. Watching this intimidating, grumpy alien slowly soften for Jolene and her baby was EVERYTHING. And he's a trained surgeon! SPOILER Zohro literally performs a C-Section, and then proceeds to take care of Jolene, the baby, AND the farm. Sir. 🥹

I really liked Jolene, too. She’s fun, practical, and honestly, her decision to head off to a planet full of alien cowboys because she needs someone to help take care of her and her baby makes perfect sense given her situation. I loved that she already had ranching experience and wasn’t just looking for someone to rescue her.

The romance is definitely a slow burn. There’s some miscommunication along the way that could probably have been solved with a couple of clarifying questions, but it helped stretch out the slowburn tension.

The spice is nice, and there are definitely some creative uses for breast milk that I was not expecting. 😂 Zohro also seems a little more confident than some of the inexperienced alien cowboys we’ve met previously, maybe because he's a doctor?

There were multiple times I found myself tearing up, and this book really leaned into that found-family feeling that I love so much about this series.

Six books in and I’m still completely hooked. Give me all the alien cowboys, ranches, found family, ridiculous situations, and unexpected romance.

These books are ADDICTIVE. I’m five books into the series and somehow I just keep getting more obsessed. Every book has me laughing out loud, and this one had me audibly sobbing over socks. Yes, SOCKS. I will not be elaborating because spoilers, but Ursa Dax really knows how to sneak an emotional gut punch into the middle of all the fun.

Oaken is just the absolute sweetest. He’s so earnest in his desire for a wife that it’s impossible not to absolutely adore him. His offer of a marriage of convenience to help Jaya is such a perfect example of his big, open heart. And this is definitely a he-falls-first story.

Jaya is an independent pilot who has every intention of getting her ship repaired and getting back to her life. Her bright idea to give Oaken “husband lessons” starts to backfire when those lessons become a little too hands-on and the feelings start catch. I really liked how she slowly had to face the fact that maybe the solo life she was living wasn’t necessarily the life she wanted anymore.

The spice is on par with the previous books, and these two definitely have some fun chemistry. Oaken may be inexperienced, but he is VERY eager. Jaya is more than happy to guide him, as long as he stops saying “cunni-linguine.” I may never recover from that. 😂

I also loved getting to see Garrek, Magnolia, and Killian again. Plus, we get a baby alien goat AND a mini robot! I love a little sidekick.

I cannot recommend this series enough. If you like ridiculous, funny, surprisingly sweet alien romance with spice, and an increasingly lovable cast of characters, READ THIS SERIES. I will be following these alien cowboys wherever they take me.
