Post from the Baldur's Gate 3: Astarion forum
I am sat at the bookstore. The employees are concerned and asking me to leave. I have never been more ready for a book in my life.

Frankenstein is one of my favorite books of all time. The themes of parenthood, responsibility, the consequences of neglect, and the human desire for connection all make this such a beautiful story. I read this back-to-back for two different classes and found so many more things to love about this story. The creature did nothing wrong, and Victor is a big whiny man-child who wants to be god but without the responsibility. I definitely took more notice of the way women are placed in a passive role in the story in my more critical readings and how Victor tried removing them overall through his creation goals. Overall, I will always love this story so much.

Alix E. Harrow, the author you are. I adored this. I actually read it slowly because I didn't want this to end. Everything about this was beautiful and heartbreaking and vivid. I love the way Alix writes, as an aspiring author, I can only dream of writing in such an emotionally impactful way. I can't praise this book enough. I know it's not for everyone but I will recommend it to anyone who will listen.

Ok, Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite books of all time. So when I started this for class, I was excited. Unfortunately, this one didn't hit as I hoped it would. I love Jane Austen and understand the themes of the story. The critique of novels and her defense of them at the time is wonderful to read about, but gosh, I just couldn't get behind the characters here. The ending also felt rushed and like she was trying to tie up the story in a way palatable for the time. Overall, I still love Austen and I'm glad I read this but I probably wouldn't read again.

I really enjoyed this. I loved mixed-media in books, and the pictures really add to the storytelling. Unfortunately, I do feel the translation may have hindered the story a bit. It's mostly tell and no show. I wish I could read it in it's original Japanese as I really feel the translation may need some work. Overall, I did really enjoy it and it kept me intrigued when I usually don't like mysteries.
