I so badly wanted to enjoy this but there were too many glaring issues that overshadowed anything I could’ve liked about this novel. Every single woman in this book that is not the love interest or a family member of the MC is portrayed as a ridiculous misogynistic stereotype. Sorry not sorry but I’m tired of reading sapphic books where the only characters who are shown respect are men. For whatever reason, I feel like this is something I’ve encountered repeatedly in sapphic cozy fantasies and I’m wondering if this is a larger issue with the genre. Super disappointing.

a feast of butch4butch
butch4butch representation is difficult to find, and i’m yearning for more all the time, so i’m compiling the list—as slow growing as it may be.
the goal in making this list is to highlight books whose main romance is a butch4butch/masc4masc relationship that is endgame.
(i am aware this list lacks more bipoc books as of now, and i am constantly on the hunt for more! if you have any recs, do let me know so i can look into them and add them. <3)

Lesbian Books That Say “Lesbian”
There is an epidemic of authors marketing their books as having lesbian characters but never actually using the word “lesbian” in text— or only doing so in a negative context. The following list is books that use the word in a neutral or positive context. I love being a lesbian and I love calling myself a lesbian!! Let’s celebrate this word as much as possible!! 🧡🩷🧡🩷🧡🩷🧡🩷
All additions will be read and vetted by me first but recommendations are welcome in the comments!!
