Hi! Does anyone has playlists recommendations to play as background music while reading these type of books? i found a couple on spotify but they’re too slow or music that puts me to sleep Edit: The music that puts me to sleep tends to be instrumental music just with piano, or instrumental that keeps the same slow rhythm, also i listen to mitski and deftones on a daily basis and turns out that i can’t focus on reading with their songs as background music 😅

We all know how fun is to take part on the readalongs, be on a high activity forum, get a badge, maybe even a sparkle one, then get congratulated on getting the badge, BUT, life gets in the way, family, work, school (any other activities you might have) and you find yourself leaving your tbr on the side reading starts to feel like a chore.
✨This is your sign to not take part on everything if you feel like it's not working for you✨, maybe you're a slow reader, maybe you like to take your time with a book, maybe you just have other books to read or things to do, it's okay to not have every badge available.
The badges, levels and challenges are not a metric for how good a reader you are, it's supposed to be a fun way to share your reads and engage with other people.
I send a hug if you've ever felt left out, or like your reading habits are not good enough 🫂
👀 I would like to hear from you what are the things you judge yourself by and later find out it really didn't matter?, I'll start: 🤡 setting a higher yearly reading challenge every year

I’m curious whether others have this dilemma too 😂 does anyone else have series on their radars that they’re super interested in starting, but haven’t simply because of the length of the books/series? If so, what are they? For me it’s the Red Rising Saga by Pierce Brown. I’m a pretty slow reader who likes to finish a series without too many other books in between, so I suppose I am intimidated by the idea of diving into a long time commitment lol

I’ve officially read more books in 2026 so far than I read in all of 2025! I’m so happy to be out of a long reading slump and I’m grateful to the pagebound community for inspiring me to read more often and for helping me to discover new books 🩷 I’m manifesting an end to reading slumps for everyone here 🕯️✨

okay so recently i have been ... Binge reading Ajin, a horror manga that i came to know thanks to the those who lurk among us quest. It's one i don't think i would've ever known about had it not been for this quest ! (tyvm to nezuu for creating it!)
so, the point to this post is, if anyone has any other *recommendations horror wise for manga that they could give me, or just any you want to talk about in the comments, i would very much love, and appreciate, that 🙂↕️ !
*i have not read very many at all so totally throw my way any ones you can think of lol i do like mixing fantasy and horror so those especially, if any come to mind !
ty in advance 🫶🐈

"a bottle blonde" "her skin as hot as an oven range" "he laughs. beautifully" "she fights not to cry out in their bedroom, but she can't contain it"
Just so many cringey lines. And don't get me started on some of the dialogue 💀
The story is interesting enough to want to keep reading. But it's definitely no literary masterpiece haha
Don't know much about Blake Crouch but maybe this is one of his earlier novels? The writing is just pretty basic and clunky. It's EXTREMELY first person point of view, which is why I think the writing is like that, but just the overall prose is just a bit off to me.
I am gonna keep reading because I love a good mystery/thriller, and I think the prose is easy enough to overlook some of the awkwardness.
