Do you have any book/reading takes that you think is controversial or unpopular? If so, what is it?

If you're someone who DNFs books, what's one of the silliest or pettiest reasons you've stopped reading? I'll go first with some of mine: - The author kept repeating the same words/phrase, I couldn't stop noticing it and after 4 chapters I'd had enough - The MMC had the same name as an ex and I wasn't about to read a whole book where he gets a happy ending - They didn't use any punctuation marks at all Please tell me I'm not the only one who abandons books that should be interesting to me for ridiculous reasons?

Do you ever read a terrible book, or one that frustrated you enough to give it 1-2 stars and get the urge to write a detailed review to blow off steam? I've done it a couple of times for terrible books, but if I'm critical of something I like doing it right. But my favorite thing to do in these scenarios is to put in all my skill in the English language to write a structured essay that my old English teachers would've been proud of, all so that I could hate on the book in peace.

Are there any words or saying that you genuinely don't like in a book? As in it kind of ruins the quality of the book when you read it? I'll start : If a book has the word "whopping", "dunno" or "ohmigod" in it, I start to dislike the book, because "whopping" in just a terrible word and sounds so American, it isn't difficult to write "I don't know" and the "mi" is so frustrating because it makes no sense phonetically

Hello everyone :) Just created an account and Iām looking for friends and some recs as June has been a bit of a quiet one for me. Hi! I just joined pagebound like a day ago, I'm super into romance books but sometimes I'll try and branch out (I usually like a little romance in the book even if it's not a lot). I hope I can make friends on here and talk about the books we enjoy! I love the concept and can't wait to use this site more!

I need your help to settle a discussion! So, 14 days of vacation, how many books would YOU take? 𤨠Obviously, there has to be a collection to pick from, depending on mood and everything! But total number, how many books would end up in your luggage?

it was very similar to play along by Liz Tomforde and the wall of Winnipeg and me. I really like this series and this was really enjoyable so I'll look past it but I feel like some things could've been different.
