Hi all! i wanted to know what you’re guilty pleasure book is? a book that you re-read when you just need some joy of spark in your life? Mine is any book that involves witches of some sort (my most re-read book is a discovery of witches by deborah harkness, this was first “adult book” i bought ever and i treasure the nostalgia when i re-read it)

I have decided that this year I am going to try and read books about the Holocaust - having a best friend's grandma who was a holocaust survivor I promised her back in 2006 that when I am ready to read about it I will. We lost nan at the end of 2006. I have so far read 2 books..

Hi all!
I’ve recently just gotten back into reading, and while I already have a thousand-mile long list of books to get through, I somehow have the urge to add even more!
This is super specific, but could anyone recommend any books that have or have something adjacent to the following?
Even if a book falls under just one of these categories, please tell me about it!! I have all the rest of my life to read as much as I can!

If I have an extended amount of time to read something I usually try to find a thematic playlist or video on YouTube for background noise. I’m curious if anyone does this? Or has a similar audio ritual they have for reading time?
For example I just started reading Blood Meridian for the first time which is a western. So I started this session listening to Wilderness Campfire Ambience from the game Red Dead Redemption 2 on YouTube. 11/10 immersion for this book for anyone else reading it btw!

Hiiii Happy New Year’s Eve! It’s time for Who’s Who Wednesday where every Wednesday we introduce ourselves and make new friends. This is part 12. I think
If you participated any of the times before, you don’t have to introduce yourself again but you can share some different facts about you, an opinion you have, or how your week is going.
If you’re new, introduce yourself!
I’ll go first.
My name is JadeLovesBooks.
My New Year’s resolution is to graduate school and move back home, to California I also want to read a variety of genres in the new year including more nonfiction and sci fi (I already read a ton of different genres but sci fi is my least favorite) Another goal of mine is better time management. I make my own schedule and I tend to be very lenient on myself.
