I wish I could scrub my eyes after this. If I have to see another simile I might explode.

This book is written by someone who so clearly loves writing. I kept finding myself pausing at some of the storytelling, the beauty of it. It is awe-inspiring that this is her first book. That being said, this book was like a punch in the face for personal reasons. I cannot think of anyone I can recommend this to because it is a painful read.

This author owes me compensation for writing things that are really similar to my life. I did not pick up this book to be called out like this :(

I don't know what I thought this book was going to be, but it was not this. It was a surprise in a good way, but I would check the trigger warnings just in case. It was a lot heavier than I thought it was going to be.

I stand by what I said in my update, the only good part of this book is the smut.

The world-building? Confusing. The plot? Ass. The characters? A bit flat thus far. The smut? Chef's kiss! I am so picky about smut, and she has avoided making it repetitive and gross! If this book gets better in some other departments she just might have a fan!

If you didn't like the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo but you're looking for a historical book that is sapphic, tragic, and actually deals with the racism in old Hollywood, this is the book for you! There is so much pining in this book! This book nearly made me cry!
