I don’t know how many of you have seen it but apparently the author has posted something online about how nothing in his books are social commentary and he doesn’t want it to be social commentary and if you are seeing some sort of political underlying themes then it’s because you’re reading too much into it.
I think that’s very interesting when you consider how much of this book is a social commentary because even the climate change thing in the classroom where some people told their child that the climate change isn’t real is a good example and on top of that the way that Grace was used for the purpose of humanity despite him not wanting to is social commentary and ultimately the way that strap knew that because people are going to get restless in the coming years she was very likely going to go to jail or become a scape goat for the government that is social commentary and it’s a commentary of how political leaders treat the people who are trying to do good things because of their own self interest. All literature has an underlying message because literature is meant to portray a person’s character.
Everything exists in a political context - Aristotle

I wanna preface by stating that this is my first ever science fiction book and I’ve heard Project Hail Mary is a “science fiction book for people who’ve never read/don’t like science fiction”, so perfect for me! I was honestly surprised at how easily I managed to follow the plot and the science explanation, this is the part I was most afraid of (since I’m more literary than science) but it was truly easy. The narration was also very good and I think helped a lot in understanding it all. I was also surprised at how much I just enjoyed the plot itself. I felt like I was watching a movie, everything unfolded before me naturally. I got really attached to the characters and felt for them when faced with various dilemmas. Some situations were really complex and dramatic but the tone always remained comedic, which was nice honestly (but I wouldn’t have minded a more tragic tone).

Hello fellow hoomans. 😊 I am wondering if you have any book recommendations around King Arthur? It could be inspired by or similar to the lore.
I have watched King Arthur: Legend of the Sword movie for like ten times now. I loved Charlie Hunnam in it. I kept wishing it was a book.
So if you know any, please recommend. 😊 Not so interested in one with heavy romance or spice. Thank you!
EDIT: Thank you everyone for your recommendations. You guys are amazing 🥰
