i have no idea if this would ever be possible, but thought i’d mention something i’ve always wanted out of a book app (literally i think about this every time i use storygraph) i’d looove if when adding a book to my tbr, i could add just a little note where i can document where i found out about the book and why in that moment im so intrigued to read it i just find my tbr can get so long i often look through it and see many books in which i have no recollection of where it was recommended to me, or why i was excited by it. especially as i tend to get my recommendations from many many sources. does this sound like something anybody else would enjoy too? perhaps could be a future suggestion the the page bound creators

i enjoyed this overall. i had low expectations based on some reviews honestly, but i felt invested pretty much the whole way through, and flew through it too as its such a small book and an easy read! i do agree it doesn’t really fully delve into huge horror elements, but i enjoyed the horror that was there and found there were quite a few moments where i was eagerly reading on, completely intrigued as to what was going to happen next i also found the two main character’s relationship to be very cute, and i enjoyed watching that develop throughout the book too i will say i was disappointed by the ending and just felt that i didn’t completely get it, which was a shame to have to leave the book that way

there’s very conflicting views on this book but honestly it’s become one of my favourite books of all time. i unfortunately had a feeling it would hit the exact spot for me 😂 it was gross and odd and funny and disorientated and spoke about an important theme albeit in an alternative way. i absolutely adored it, though i do see why others wouldn’t and would recommend looking up triggers beforehand

i have no idea if anyone else here watches booktubers but just wanted to rave a little about my favourite booktuber, booksandlala. if you’re into horror, lit fit, weird books, (and a little bit of romance/fantasy) i honestly couldn’t recommend her enough. i get so many of my book recs from her and her videos are all about reading and are sooo creative and fun. also a big fan of the most popular booktuber, jack edwards. does anyone else have any booktuber recommendations? especially if their content is horror based 🤩

as the title says, just feel i could do with reading more amazing books that go under the radar a little bit. especially looking for any recs that fall under the categories of horror, thriller, mystery and lit fic (especially characters unravelling/strange lit)

i’ve read a fare share of classics and this has remained my favourite. while i wish we had a little more time in the castle, i adored following this story with the horror elements mixed in with many many elements that made me chuckle. i’m not usually sold on vampire stuff and so was dubious of even picking it up but it was a compete winner for me. 5 stars

i’m liking this quite a lot. whilst i’m not sure we’re going to get any true horror in this book, i’m enjoying the progression of the two main character’s relationship so far and the gradual exploration of the house

Some people try not to read reviews before they start a book to not get subconciously influenced. I read a few reviews beforehand. Bad reviews don't stop me from starting a book (I enjoyed books in the past that have low overall ratings) but I want to know in advance if the author is shady or put anything in the book I don't like (racist, ableist or transphobic stuff, HP references, surprise pregnancy and so on). Let me know what you think :)

i think this book has put me in a slump and i seem to have given up around the 37% mark. it just seems very repetitive and the characters actions are truly bothering me and make it hard to root for them. i get that’s the point and i usually love messy books and messy characters, but im truly struggling with this one for some reason. i’ve also learnt some controversy around the author recently and im not sure if thats putting me off too haha. just wondering if anyone else struggled or if pushing through the rest of the book ever becomes truly worth it?

I get my recommendations from bookstagram! And mostly from people i follow on Goodreads. And especially from here on pagebound (I'm actually seeing lot of amazing underrated books and added it to my tbr). So I'm curious to know where & how do you find books to read and add to you tbr?

Do you have a personal criteria in DNFing a book? I try to get through 25% of a book or 3-5 chapters, whichever comes first, before I decide, "okay this one's not it for me". But I let myself sit in the feeling for about a week or two before I officially call it quits and maybe return the library book early. I also dont usually consider myself reading the book on a book tracker until I feel like I'm considerably hooked in it so sometimes I consider them unread rather than DNF.
