Where to start…first of all I must say I’m in no way trying to kink shame anyone. What you like is what you like and I’m happy for you. But I’ve also learned that I don’t particularly enjoy a taboo romance and that’s okay! Not everyone will, and we all must be okay with that. I’ve also learned I need to read the back of books before I go picking the up for the hell of it, so my unenjoyment of this book is entirely my fault.

Now for the meat and potatoes of this review: to put it simply, I hated it.

To expand upon just simply hating it, I thought the writing was in need of editing at best and downright bad at worst. Avi and Kyran are some of the most egregiously annoying people I’ve ever had the displeasure of reading about. They were childish, rude, arrogant and like leaned so heavily on the “oh boys will be boys” mantra that I couldn’t stomach anytime they opened their mouths. I’m not even touching the sailor/potty mouths they used during the sex scenes. It was wayyyyyyyyy too much. There was no need for it, even in the realm of dirty talk. The subject matter of their taboo relationship is just whatever. Yeah they’re step brothers. Yeah they start an only fans. Womp womp. It’s not for me, that’s perfectly okay. What I genuinely didn’t like is how every five seconds they have to remind the reader and each other that they are indeed step brothers. Gang we understood it the first time, we genuinely didn’t need it repeated over 150 times (I counted) especially during the sex scenes! But that’s just my opinion. Also what boggled MY MIND was that NO ONE in their friends or family cared that they were together? Not one intervention on hey let’s not fuck our step siblings? Nary a guys what is happening? Be so serious.

Everything about this sucked, the characters sucked, the writing sucked, the smut sucked. I think I’ll be sticking to my lane, thank you for allowing me to visit, but I think I’ll see myself out.

This book was honestly sooooo cute I ate it tf up. I really enjoyed that Sam went on a journey to see that she needed to love herself first before letting a woman take over her whole life. The relationship between Daphne and Sam was a really fun dynamic and I love that they fell in love over the course of the book and wasn’t at all insta love (imo). Very good.
