There is a lot to like about this book: the setting and atmosphere, the brilliantly grotesque way that certain scenes are written, and the overall theme. The character writing fell kinda flat for me though. I wasn't crazy about how on the nose some things were, either.

Really enjoyable for a body swap comedy.

Love the show, but I could not get into this at all. A rare instance of a screen adaptation being leagues ahead of the source material.

A very helpful book that I'll probably return to again and again for the next several months, if not years.

Rasputin! My favorite scrungly wizard-grifter. A thoroughly enjoyable read.

The only thing that really stops me from giving this one a higher rating is the author's approach to citations.

I love parts of this book to bits (The Devil's Minion specifically), but it does drag in some places. Still a solid entry in the Vampire Chronicles.
