I'm quite surprised that Emily already suspects that W.B. (can't get myself to write his name without chuckling or straining my fingers across the keyboard) is Far. I was expecting some grand moment of revelation. Disappointed (?)

    Evergreen indeed

I've just picked up Yokomizo's books, and I'm blown away by how well he writes atmosphere. It's been a long, long time since a classic murder mystery has caught my attention like the likes of Sherlock Holmes, but this one does it. It's thrilling how it's more about the motive, the why, rather than the who (although the latter is the question too). It's indeed a pity that so few of his books have been translated to English.

I've read a lot of buzz around this one, including an opinion that the first chapter is dull and slow, but I think it's all part of setting the stage. Also, Wendell Bambleby is a name I am VERY curious about. I'll be okay calling him 'bumblebee' fondly.
