overall - 5 stars: i was genuinely obsessed with this book. it told a queer and romantic story in through elegant and poetic ways of war and letter writing. it was well written and pieced together beautifully.
enjoyment - 5 stars: i ate this book UP. i took my time to read it, savouring the story allowing my thoughts to process and simmer. will very well likely be reading it again and recommending it to others.
quality - 5 stars: i can only imagine how difficult it can be to form a single story with two people, but the authours made it seem easy. it flowed nicely and felt like a cohesive narrative. there wasn't a battle of authours' voices. we do write into the story and war and learn to understand the settings and happenings as it goes.
characters - 5 stars: though it is a short, and in theory quick, read i feel a though we slowly get to know and unravel the characters. we learn of them through their knowing and understanding of each other. i like how we learn of their homes and histories. their battle strategies and thought processes. they know each other better and first through years of battle but we're learning as they explain it and remember. which is fun. they are interesting and intelligent and complex and fun to follow.
plot - 5 stars: though confusing at first, trying to understand the time war wand how it works i was able to catch on quicker than i thought. separating my focus from the war itself and thinking if the story and setting separately made it easier to piece together the separate worlds and strands and how it works. i think it's a smart story and watching as everything falls into place was wicked satisfying. i laughed, blushed, stressed, cried.
i really loved this book. no notes lol
