"He gave Ser Ilyn a new sword, and had Ice melted down and reforged. There was enough metal for two new blades. You're holding one. So you'll be defending Ned Stark's daughter with Ned Stark's sword, if that makes any difference to you." 🥹🥹🥹🥹 wow okay, Jamie is becoming more and more likable as this book goes on. Earlier he had a thought about doing the right thing because everyone expected him to do the wrong thing, so he wants to be unexpected.

"'Bring me the book I was reading last night.' She wanted to lose herself in the words, in other times and other places." - p. 991 Dany to Irri. I love a good book line 📖😌💕

From the provocative and challenging to the emotional and quiet, Japanese literary fiction tends to be nuanced, introspective, and minimalistic. These books contain layered cultural commentary and may lean on psychological, surreal, or fantastical elements to convey their message.

"The king is eight. Our first duty is to protect him, which includes protecting him from himself. Use that ugly thing you keep inside your helm. If Tommen wants you to saddle his horse, obey him. If he tells you to kill his horse, come to me." FINALLY - this feels like someone brought some sense to the realm. I fear it won't last long, but this statement feels needed.

"This is none of our concern", Steelshanks warned Jaime. "Lord Bolton said the wench was theirs, to do with as they liked." "Her name's Brienne."
Aaah Jaime, they can never make me hate you.
