Although a bit cheesy at times, I found this to be a really fun read! I liked the characters a lot and enjoyed how Yumeko kept picking up unlikely companions on her journey. I'm looking forward to reading the next book!

The story centers on a group of sixteen people, all of whom are staying at a new luxury apartment complex, who are all invited to the will reading of deceased paper tycoon Samuel W. Westing whose body was found at his old mansion near the complex by one of them beforehand. Leaving behind his huge fortune and company, he writes that he has murdered by one of them and has put them together in unique pairs and left them a puzzle for them with distinct clues to find out who killed him.
The guests include the complex doorman, a grumpy restauranteur and his son, a podiatrist, a cleaning woman, a mother and her two daughters with one of them named Turtle who is the main focus of the story. We follow all the guests at the complex trying to decode the clues they have trying to deal with each other and face some very unexpected situations and twists.
Raskinās novel is a very snappy, exhilarating and cracking mystery thatās just a mindblower. The main plot line brings a lot of mysterious tension with a bit of humor and oddballness. Itās the large cast of characters that are the real energy of the story as thereās a lot of unique and diverse people we meet and follow, even if some of their attitudes are a little droll and take a while to warm up to. Tuttle is a perfect main voice as sheās very relatable and is determined to solve this mystery. In a way, the novelās elements and characters definitely reminded me of Trenton Lee Stewartās āMysterious Benedict Societyā series. Youāll certainly find a plethora of surprises and twists along the way with a rather comforting conclusion.
This āGameā is a very charming and well written mystery that both children and adults will enjoy till the last page of paper.
A- (91%/Excellent)

Unfortunately, I found this follow-up to The Floating World to be disappointing. The pacing felt off, and some of the magic from the first book was lost because of it. We hopped from event to event too quickly, often relying on well-timed coincidences to move the plot along. I didn't care about the characters as much, and some seemed to exist mainly to move the plot forward, without the emotional connections that were so strong in the first book. I'll still seek out Axie Oh's books in the future, but this was sadly a miss for me.
