These books are very easy to like. The pacing is well done. The characters have actually realistic relationships and problems. It's not a light read considered some themes, but it is very wholesome.

I need opinions before reading the book

UPDATE: Okay you all have officially convinced me to give the first book a try!! Despite my incoherent rambling and being unable to pinpoint my exact issues with the movies, you guys nailed it! The characters are very important to me. Based of these comments I might actually really enjoy the books!

Hello, so I feel a bit torn. I like the basics of hunger games. I like seeing hunger games book specific content, and think it sounds interesting and it makes me want to read it, but I absolutely hated the movies. The movies were slow, and I feel the story wasn't at all well explored or explained. The characters didn't stand out especially except katniss and peeta ofc. I feel like the books get so much love, but I wanna know if it's worth trying.

Now my question, is the book better than the movies and if so what's the biggest differences you see? I want to like hunger games so bad, but if the books are true to the movie then I don't know 😅 I love reading and technically these books are right up my alley, but the movies threw me off. So yeah- any opinions at all are helpful! Minor spoilers is not big deal for me either.

The Shatter Me series is my ultimate guilty pleasure. I am just here for the characters and the romance. I rarely read romance books but whatever Tahereh Mafi is doing in these books? It works. Against all odds. These books are not doing anything groundbreaking but Mafi somehow manages to mostly steer clear of the cringe that seems to be taking over the romantasy world 🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe I'm speaking too soon when it comes to this particular book but we shall see. . .

This book exceeded my expectations. It took me two hours to devour this thing. Honestly I cant wait to read the second book. As someone who loves absolutely adores the OG shatter me books I was skeptical. How would the book turn out with brand new characters and how could the storyline be interesting? Well the answer are short. Tahereh is a genius. I have never felt characters as alive as in these books. I can feel that James is different as a narrator than Warner. I just loved this book. It's simple as that. I was hesitant. I wanted to love it, but I didnt think I would. I thought the magic from the previous books would have died out, but oh boy I was wrong.
